T BREAK 2011
Fresh from providing one of the most exciting and talked about line ups at T in the Park 2011, the 15th year of Tennent’s Lagers T Break initiative is being hailed by many as the best yet. The 16 bands hand-picked from over a thousand entries by our judges took to the T Break Stage between 8-10 July and absolutely rocked it.
This year we’ve teamed up with our partners at Radio Magnetic to give you the chance to listen again to some of the most exciting new artists in the country. We’ve recorded all 16 live sets from the T Break Stage, along with an exclusive track chosen by each artist which you can download for free here. Not only that, you can hear interviews with the bands fresh from their performance and watch some of them play exclusive backstage acoustic sets.
Tennent’s will be launching T Break 2012 early next year. If you’re an unsigned band/artist from Scotland, you and your members are all over 18 and you think you’re ready to play the biggest platform at T in the Park for unsigned artists, then register your details and you’ll be first to hear when the call for demos opens.
Thanks to everyone who sent in a demo this year, proving that Scotland is undoubtedly awash with talented artists.

AERIALS UP
Aerials Up is a hotly-tipped seven piece band that creates sweet music through multi-part harmonies, beautiful orchestral arrangements and a powerful folk-rock sound.
BOYCOTTS
Boycotts are a female fronted band with post punk guitars played over a solid yet interesting rhythm section topped with catchy pop melodies.
CANCEL THE ASTRONAUTS
Cancel the Astronauts are an Edinburgh based band that play indie pop music, influenced by the likes of The Lightning Seeds.
CARNIVORES
Carnivores are a three-piece band from Paisley that mix rock, punk and progressive rock, influenced by The Bronx and Queens of the Stone Age.
CHURCH OF WHEN THE SHIT HITS THE FAN
Church of When the Shit Hits the Fan perfectly gathers super illmatic poetry on top of monstrous glitches and blasting beats.
CONQUERING ANIMAL SOUND
Conquering Animal Sound is a two-piece electronic act that uses guitars, keyboards and percussion to create ambient loops and clicking beats.
CRAYONS
Crayons play pop music that falls apart, making the messages clear in their songs whilst keeping the melodies sweet.
DISCOPOLIS
Discopolis are a young, emerging three-piece band that plays indie electro music with synths, computers, guitars, drum machines and more.
FATHERSON
Fatherson are a three-piece indie rock band with a sound that is both intricate and epic. They draw comparisons to the likes of Biffy Clyro and Manchester Orchestra.
LADY NORTH
Lady North is an instrumental three-piece, comprising tectonic throbs of guitar, drum and bass. They are purveyors of math rock with gnarling effects pedals.
MARRIK LAYDEN DEFT WITH SCATABRAINZ
Marrick Layden Deft with Scatabrainz execute electronic alternative hip hop with a bit of punk attitude thrown in for good measure.
OTHERPEOPLE
Otherpeople are a band from Glasgow who try and combine elements of Talking Heads, Blur, and Pavement songs.
PAWS
PAWS are a three-piece punk-rock band that creates simple alternative songs in a ‘kitten meets grizzly bear’ dynamic. They count The Breeders and Polvo in their influences.
REVERIEME
Reverieme is a female singer songwriter with thoughtful lyrics and catchy hooks. She beautifully manages to blend fast-paced country inspired pop with a quieter introspective style.
THE LAFONTAINES
The LaFontaines are a young exciting five-piece combining portions of hip hop, rock and pop into one melodic element of noise.
UNITED FRUIT
United Fruit is an alt rock band playing frenzied guitars with ripping vocals, complimented by grooving bass and pounding drums. Abrasive and heavy yet melodic and catchy.
