Tennent's
Wellpark Brewery
2011 sees Tennent’s Lager host the 15th annual T Break initiative and T Break remains as exciting a prospect today as it was back when it launched in 1996.
Through T Break, Tennent’s provides grassroots unsigned musicians in Scotland with the chance to play on the T Break Stage at T in the Park.
In 2011 we received nearly 1100 entries from bands and artists hailing from Glasgow to Stornoway and everywhere in between, and we expect even more this year.
Each and every demo is listened to by the T Break judging panel which comprises some of the most influential music industry experts in Scotland – check out our Judges page for more info.
16 of the best bands are then selected by our judges and invited to play on T in the Park’s biggest and most acclaimed platform for new music.
Over the past 15 years, T Break has hosted some legendary performances – It’s where Biffy Clyro made their T in the Park debut back in 2000. In 2008 Paolo Nutini decided to showcase his alter ego collective – Snake Derrick & The Vypers and not forgetting Snow Patrol’s T in the Park debut: “We first played at T in 1997 in the T Break Stage….ten years later and we’re headlining” (Gary Lightbody, Snow Patrol, 2007).
