Tennent's Tops Citrus Lager

The limited edition Tennent’s Tops is the latest expansion to our range of beers, and it builds on everything that made the original so great. Brewed at Wellpark using soft Highland water from Loch Katrine and the finest Scottish malt, this is a citrus lager with real character.

At 3.4% ABV, Tops is light enough for any occasion but full of flavour. Crisp, zesty, and refreshing from the first sip to the last. You can pick it up in Tesco, Asda, Morrisons, Sainsbury’s, and convenience stores as one 4-pack of 440ml cans.

Tennent’s Tops starts life in the same place as every can of Tennent’s Lager: Wellpark Brewery in Glasgow’s East End, where we’ve been brewing since 1885. The water is drawn from Loch Katrine in the Scottish Highlands. It’s naturally soft and absolutely perfect for lager.

What makes Tops different is the layered citrus character sitting on top of that familiar Tennent’s taste we all know and love. The carbonation has been turned up a wee bit to help release the citrus flavours, and the bitterness from the hand-picked bittering hops is balanced by a subtle sweetness.

It’s not too much, just enough to keep everything in harmony. The result? A beer that’s immediately recognisable as Tennent’s, but with something new and genuinely refreshing.

“Tops is a very moreish, very modern twist on its phenomenally successful parent beer. You still have all the attributes that make Tennent’s Lager Scotland’s most loved beer, but Tops comes with an additional zesty twist.

The citrus flavours tingle on the tongue in perfect harmony with the beer’s lingering bitterness, derived from the finest hand-picked bittering hops. We increased the carbonation ever so slightly and this really helps release the citrus flavours. To balance the kick from the hops and the lemon, Tops has a subtle sweetness. Not too much, just enough to make this an exceptionally well-balanced citrus beer.
